In order to participate in our Zoom training and receive full credit, your video and microphone must be working – we will need to see and hear you throughout the entire training.

This training will provide an overview of the various cultures in the U.S. and the role they play when people of different cultures interact. 1.0 hour Racial/Ethnic

LaSheila Yates is the President and founder of Cultural Perspectives, LLC.  LaSheila served as the Executive Director for the Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission and the Chief Diversity Officer for the City of Cedar Rapids.  Prior to being hired as the Commission’s Executive Director, LaSheila worked as a Civil Rights investigator in 2008 before being promoted in 2010 to the position of Housing Programs Manager in the City of Cedar Rapids Community Development Dept.  LaSheila received her BS in Sociology in 2004 and MA in Social Science from Southern University A&M College (Baton Rouge, LA) in 2005, while also serving as  Heavy Construction Engineer in the Louisiana Army National Guard.  LaSheila completed Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 2005.  She then received a MA in Sociology from Southern Illinois University.
