Iowa Office of Consumer Affairs Director
The Office of Consumer Affairs (OCA) Director is an integral part of the NAMI Iowa team and is responsible for the outreach and direction of the OCA, a statewide resource for individuals with mental illness and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for leadership to the work of the Iowa OCA and its Advisory Committee. There is limited (average 2-3 days per month) travel within Iowa. Candidates with lived experience with mental illness and direct experience with the Iowa mental health system and community resources are preferred. Reports to NAMI Iowa Executive Director and responsible for writing monthly and annual reports to DHS. Candidates must be comfortable answering phone calls to the helpline and providing referrals to resources statewide. The OCA Director also conducts outreach via stakeholder meetings, conferences and presentations; some travel and public speaking required.
Qualifications: College degree or equivalent experience required. Degree and/or experience in care coordination, social work or nursing, or current certification as peer support or family peer support specialist is a plus. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and be comfortable with documentation.
