Outpatient Clinical Supervisor
Supervises assigned counselors as directed by Outpatient Clinical Manager. Provides informal feedback and direction and conducts annual performance evaluations. Conducts interviews and participates in making hiring recommendations. Makes recommendations regarding disciplinary actions, terminations, promotions, and pay. Reviews and approves timesheets and expense reports. Conducts regular staffings with counselors to discuss and monitor patient progress, review treatment plans, and address questions and issues. Trains counseling staff in facilitation of group, family and/or individual counseling sessions, clinical interventions, implementing curriculum, and development of treatment plans in accordance with policy. Conducts patient file reviews to ensure all patient records are in compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Assists counselors with clinical issues that arise. Provides training and supervision necessary to ensure that all staff understand financial principles and are able to demonstrate proficiency in entering data into the electronic recordkeeping system. Provides oversight of Iowa City Jail Evaluation program. Submits data and/or reports as required.
Qualified candidates will have a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field and an independent license (LISW, LMHC, or LMFT). A minimum of four years of substance abuse experience and supervisory experience is preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong organizational skills.
