IBC’s Training Committee has developed a 6-part training series geared toward professionals just starting out, but also for more experienced professionals who would like to brush up on some topics. Each training is offered in both the Cedar Rapids and Des Moines area, and all 6 trainings in the series will occur within 12 months. Each training is a separate 3-hour training – you may register for whichever ones you wish. Sign up below for the May training -  "Documentation: Progress Notes, Releases, Correspondence, etc."

Documentation: Progress Notes, Releases, Correspondence, etc. – May 4, 2018 in Cedar Rapids (Angie Davis, presenter) and in the IBC office (Sharaine Conner, presenter)
A necessary skill of any professional is that of documentation.  How and what do I write?  To whom am I writing it?  Are there different ways to say the same thing?  How much is determined by my employer, and what is expected by state or national guidelines?  This installment tackles the subject of correspondence and documentation.  Participants will be presented with standard correspondence and documentation as well as challenged with ethical dilemmas related to correspondence and documentation.

Training Information: This is another chapter in the Brain Series where we specifically take a look at trauma and how it is received by the brain, processed by the brain, and manifested in behavior. This workshop will inform and empower healing by identifying brain function related to trauma. Participants will be offered an objective perspective on reception and response to trauma in adolescent and adult brains. As previous brain series workshops, this can be carbon-copied and presented to community groups and providers, as well as to clients and families.
